During your first appointment, we’ll start with an in-depth conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. I’ll then conduct a Chinese medicine assessment to identify the root pattern behind your symptoms. This diagnostic process guides a customized acupuncture treatment during the same visit.
Before you leave, I’ll share a treatment plan tailored to your needs — including how often to come in, expected outcomes, and any lifestyle or herbal recommendations to support your healing.
Follow-up visits allow more time for additional therapies alongside acupuncture, such as heat therapy (like moxibustion or heat packs), cupping, gua sha, or manual techniques when appropriate.

Most patients are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. You may feel a brief pinch or a mild tingling sensation, but many people find treatments deeply relaxing — some even fall asleep during sessions.
-
That depends on the nature and severity of your condition. Some people feel relief after one session, while others need several weeks of consistent care. I’ll discuss a treatment plan with you after your first visit.

Yes — acupuncture is safe during pregnancy and can complement conventional treatments. I’ll always take your full medical history into account to provide the safest care possible.

Acupuncture needles are sterile, single-use, surgical-grade stainless steel needles that are safely disposed of after each treatment. They’re extremely fine—much thinner than a strand of hair—and most patients feel little to no discomfort upon insertion. I also hold Clean Needle Technique certification through the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAOM), ensuring the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
